2025 Guatemala Trip – Spanish4Educators

  • Dates: July 7-20, 2025
  • Includes all of the following:
    • 2 weeks: Family homestay with three meals per day (no meals on Sunday)
    • 2 weeks: Private Spanish Classes (4 hours per day, Monday through Friday)
    • Four Observation/Volunteer sessions at a local public school (3 hours per session)
    • Cultural Activities, including city tour of Antigua, Mayan wedding/weaving/music tours, coffee farm tour, and salsa/merengue lessons
    • Airport Transfer to/from Guatemala City International Airport to Antigua
    • Two interactive pre-departure orientations via Zoom
    • Facilitated group reflections (2) while in Guatemala

Cost: $2,599

Please note: This package does not include international round-trip airfare to Guatemala.  This should be arranged by the participant.

Add-on Options

Trip Extension (1 or 2 weeks)

  • Cost: $495 per week
    • Included:
      • Family Homestay accommodations plus three meals per day (no meals on Sundays)
      • Private Spanish Classes for 4 hours per day Monday through Friday
    •  Please note: This option is only available if you also select the base package.  Please specify on the registration if you would like a one-week or two-week extension.

Tikal Trip (End of Trip)

  • Cost: $745
  • Dates: July 18-21
    • Included:
      • Round-trip airfare to/from Guatemala City to Tikal
      • Ground Transportation
      • Lodging (2 nights) adjacent to Tikal National Park
      • Lodging (1 night) in Guatemala City in order to prepare to take international flight back to US the next day.
      • Entrance Fees into National Park
      • Guided Tour of National Park
      • Some meals (although not all meals) are provided as well.  Please contact us if you would like more specifics.
    • Please note: This option is only available if you also select the base package.  Please specify on the registration that you would also like this extension.

Lake Atitlan (Weekend Excursion)

  • Cost: $350
  • Dates: July 11-13
  • Included:
    • Ground Transportation from Antigua to Panahachel
    • Boat Transportation from Panahachel to lake-front hostel
    • Two nights lodging at lake-front lodge
    • Food for all meals

Discounts

  • Group discounts
      • If you are traveling with at least three people from the same school district, then you are eligible for a group discount!  The more people in your group, the greater the discount, so round up all of your friends and colleagues! Discount starts at $100 per person if you travel with 3-5 people from your district.
  • Early-Bird Discount
      • $150 discounted from your overall tuition cost if you register and pay your $200 deposit by December 31, 2022
  • Child Discounts
      • Participants traveling with children aged 3-15: $1,000 tuition per child (per each paying adult).

 

  • University (Pre-Teacher) Student Discount: $200 discount (if completing initial student teaching during 2021-22 school year)

Retired Teacher Discount: $200 (if retired educator on or after 2021-22 school year)
